OUR PROJECTS
Design and construct 2×2 bedroom houses, Wurrumiyanga
DT Hobbs undertook the design and construction of 2 x 2-bedroom staff houses with detached carports for Tiwi Enterprises Pty Ltd.
Design development began on 2 September 2015 and construction commenced on 2 November 2015. An excellent timeframe was achieved given that construction occurred during the wet season with the dwellings being constructed in 43 days and handed over to the client on 18 January 2016.
One of the time-saving and cost effective initiatives used for this project is the CUPOLEX® foundation system.
CUPOLEX® is an innovative structural dome concrete slab system made from recycled non-toxic Polypropylene. The domes interconnect to create a self-supporting structure acting as permanent form work, as an alternative to hard fill in concrete slab.
Jobs were provided for 3 local Indigenous employees through the client organisation and we were able to able to achieve an outstanding 37% Indigenous employment rate.
